In October of 2001, Lynn and I selected our new house. On this page to can take a look at the house in reverse. (The deconstruction of the house.) Our external plans for the house are complete (for the time being). We completed the landscaping in May and, in preparation for our summer of guests from England, we installed a spa. Well, it wasn't all for them. It's more for us, but any excuse was appropriate.

Landscaping is complete

We finished our landscaping in May and, the plants have really taken root. Lynn and I spend weekend mornings (usually Saturday) tending to the plants and grass. The surprise to both of us was how attentive we are to the weeding. We seem to be out in the garden every other day pulling weeds. I don't know how we get a 2 foot weed 3 feet from where I pulled its evil twin the day before.

Why did we buy this house?

When Lynn lived in England, she had her own place, and, when she moved to California, she moved in with Bill who also owned a home.

For a number of reasons, they decided that they wanted to get a new place.

  1. They were living in Bill's "batchelor pad"
  2. Lynn hit the neighbor's car
  3. Need more room: There seemed to be a number of people who wanted to visit.
  4. Do you really need anymore reasons?

Two weeks after returning from our honeymoon, we found the Ladera Ranch house.
